Project at a Glance
A rural property out near Mullaley, west of Gunnedah, came to us needing a serious off-grid power system - big enough to handle heavy everyday use and reliable enough that they wouldn't have to think about it.
We designed and installed a 25kW solar array with 30kVA of inverter capacity and 92kWh of lithium battery storage, backed up by a 20kVA auto-start generator for extended cloudy weather. Rather than leave the equipment exposed, we built a 10-foot container in-house to house it all, fully insulated, lined and fitted with a split system air conditioner. Keeping the batteries and inverters cool through the summer heat helps them perform properly and last longer.
Our own Level 2 electricians handled the whole job, from the system design and container build through to installation and switch-on. The property now has dependable power around the clock, with the generator there as a safety net rather than an everyday cost.
The Challenge
This rural property near Mullaley needed a large, reliable stand-alone power system that could handle heavy daily use, day and night, without relying on the grid. With all that equipment going in, it also needed a secure home that would keep the batteries and inverters protected and running at the right temperature through hot Liverpool Plains summers.
The Outcome
The property now runs on its own solar power, with 92kWh of lithium battery storage carrying it through the night and a 20kVA auto-start generator that kicks in on its own if the batteries run low during long cloudy spells. All the gear sits in a purpose-built, insulated and air-conditioned container, keeping it protected and running at its best.
